Mridangam ,which translates to “Body of Clay” , is one of the commonly played ancient percussion instruments from South India. We want to work towards elevating the brand presence of performing artists and introduce, Mridangam and Carnatic as an art-form to the world through dynamic and extravagant visuals.

“Motion meets Mridangam” is a cross collaboration between established classical Indian percussionists and visual designers. This idea of bridging the gap between sound design, rhythm and moving visuals would pave way for creative traditionalists in the Carnatic industry to enrich the whole music experience for audiences.

Mridangam series by Anirudh Srinivasan has a variety of intricately crafted vibrant compositions made from the artist's memory and imagination. These are digitally created from scratch using computer graphics tools.

About the studio :

Anirudh Studios is a boutique that creates high end moving and static visuals for businesses and individuals. Our focus is to celebrate the country’s ten thousand year old civilization and work towards increasing visibility to large number of prestigious artifacts, sculptures, instruments, architectural sites and establishments. This creative and motion design studio aims to digitalize assets while persevering the authenticity of what is considered Indian. We sell prints of digital art, create custom made artwork for special occasions, make installation art and produce music videos for classical Indian artists and performers.

About the artist :

Anirudh Srinivasan is a motion designer and visual effects specialist who comes from an engineering background. He graduated with a master’s degree in Multimedia and Digital Communication at Rochester Institute of Technology, New York. He is currently the Co-Founder of Anirudh Studios, a creative agency based in Madras.

Having worked with many reputed creative and performance agencies in the United States in different areas of Multimedia, he has gained experience and learnt various skills that have enabled him to become a full-fledged motion and graphic artist.

He has art directed and worked on various motion pieces, animations and designs for multi-billion dollar clients and celebrity artists in the past. He has had two critically acclaimed solo art shows exhibiting abstract illustrations and life-sized charcoal drawings based on hyper-realism. 

He believes that creating compelling and moving visual stories can help him emotionally connect with people. He is always ready to go the distance to contribute as much as he can through the art he creates for making this world a better place to live in.
